A Message from Ryan

Hi guys! It's Ryan. I am so excited to be able to meal-prep fresh, high-quality, and delicious meals for you! Meal prep and nutrition have been my passion my entire life.

After graduating from high school in a small town in Knoxville, Iowa, I decided to attend Iowa State University to further my education in Dietetics and Nutrition and pursue a career in the nutrition field. In my junior year of college, my friends encouraged me to meal-prep for them. One thing led to another, and Precision by Nutrition was born! That was in 2021, and I completed my bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and Nutrition in 2023.

During college, I also had a passion for fitness, specifically bodybuilding, which required a lot of meal prep for myself. I competed in 2018, 2020, and in two competitions in 2024! In 2025, I completed my NASM certification as a Personal Trainer, hoping to help others on their fitness, nutrition, and health journey.

I also enjoy other activities like swimming, biking, and running. One thing that brings me lots of joy is music—I enjoy all kinds, from country and hip-hop to worship and rock!

Lastly, on a personal note, I have a deep faith in Jesus Christ, and my faith is the most important part of my life. That’s me!

A Message from Heather

Hi guys! It's Heather. I am Ryan's mom and am heavily involved in Precision by Nutrition on the weekends, on top of my Monday–Friday job at Knoxville Hospital and Clinics! I do the vast majority of the cooking at PBN, especially the sweet treats. All those delicious protein muffins, protein bites, scotcharoos, protein brownies, overnight oats, protein puddings, protein granola bars, as well as foods like pastas, grains, and meats, are made by me!

I have enjoyed cooking my whole life, especially after having kids and cooking for the family. When Ryan was 14, I started teaching him how to cook great, healthy foods. I am also very passionate about health and fitness! I enjoy endurance training and have competed in countless marathons, half marathons, sprint triathlons, and fun 5Ks. I qualified for the Boston Marathon through the Phoenix Marathon before COVID, but unfortunately, Boston was canceled that year. I am currently training for the St. George Marathon to qualify again!

I am also very passionate about nutrition and eat to live rather than live to eat. I follow the keto diet and have seen great results for my health, performance, and overall quality of life. I love cooking a variety of foods to meet my keto goals—and, of course, love cooking all the delicious meals at PBN!

In my sparse free time outside of two jobs and training, I enjoy time with my husband Dennis, my two kids Ryan and Kyle, spending time on the Pella square where I live, reading all sorts of books, and keeping up with new music to play on the JBL in the kitchen. That’s me!
