Student Portal: Pick up your assignments, search for resources to help you learn, and collaborate with your peers. For each of your classes, you have access to the shared documents which lets you view documents uploaded by your teacher and upload your own content. Thomas Deacon Academy VLE can also show current homework assignments, your timetable, as well as other important school information.
Pupil Details shows all the information related to the student such as class groups and contact information for parents/carers. All the information can be reviewed to make sure that it is up-to-date. If there are any problems with the information, contact the home college of the student.
Attendance is shown in a pie chart, representing present/absent marks, as well as late marks. Full details are available below showing the time and date of any non-present marks assigned.
Students are able to complete their homework tasks in the library at the beginning and end of every day. Homework clubs are also open during most lunchtimes where teaching support staff are on hand to offer support and advice.
There are several advantages to a virtual learning environment. Firstly, they offer a streamlined place where the diverse activities of staff, students and teachers can be managed with ease. Secondly, they help with class administration and organisation; they assist in the creation of lesson plans; they manage the assessment and monitoring of students; and they aid discussion with and support for students. Finally, VLEs allow students to easily access homework and assignments as well as work at their own pace in and out of the classroom. As students, teachers and school leaders embrace virtual learning environments, the possibilities look endless.
Many classes at BCC, especially online classes, will require you to submit your student work electronically through our Moodle Learning Management System. Submitting work is easy, the steps below will show how.
The details of the homework tasks are available for parents and students to see via Go4Schools. The web address for this is www.go4schools.com, but there is also a free app that you can download from App Stores for use on smartphones. [Please note: First time users will need to log in to the website at least once before being able to use the app.]
Many of our subjects use websites to set homework. These websites often allow students to receive instant feedback on their performance, as well as providing teachers with important information on how their classes perform on different topics and tasks.
Other subjects continue to set paper-based homework, or use electronic resources designed by teachers. Copies of these resources are usually made available when a teacher sets homework via Go4Schools.
The table below shows how work is set in each subject, including the names of any relevant websites. It also shows how often homework is set in each subject. Please note that these timings are guidelines only and that there may be some points in the year where homework frequencies may vary (for example, due to teacher absence or events like sports days).
Please note that students are required to give at least 24 hours notice before requesting help with passwords. Where this is not the case, we will treat the homework as incomplete. This is to give teachers and other staff a fair amount of time to respond to these requests.
If file submissions and online text are enabled, and a word limit is set for the online text, it is possible for a student to end up with a submission status of 'No attempt' together with saved file submissions. This occurs when a student submits files, enters online text, clicks 'Save changes' then obtains a message informing them that the text exceeds the word limit. If they then click Cancel, the submission status is shown as 'No attempt' together with saved file submissions. 2b1af7f3a8
Hello. I used to have a learning disability until I found services that helped me and i recently used best ghost writer services to help me complete a particularly difficult task and I was extremely impressed with the quality of work provided. The writer I worked with was able to provide me with valuable information and feedback, and the final product exceeded my expectations. The platform is easy to use and the customer support team is knowledgeable and responsive. I would definitely use this service again in the future.
